چکیده

Agent-based approaches have not yet been widely applied to highly complex, data intensive,large-scale information processing systems such as are found in the domain of imagery & geospatial computing. Such systems combine diverse and distributed types of imagery and geospatial data, and require collaboration from multiple experts and processing components. This paper gives a description of the design and implementation of the Agent-based Imagery and Geospatial processing Architecture (AIGA). Our approach centers on the development of an ontology, light-weight agents, and an agent communication language for imagery & geospatial computing. AIGA agents cooperate with each other to answer specific queries and to efficiently manage distributed resources. Many of of the imagery & geospatial exploitation tasks that AIGA agents process are highly complex, with several processing steps involved. We describe in detail how the AIGA system is inherently parallel, thus allowing for parallel implementations of both new and legacy imagery & geospatial exploitation algorithms. Because this system is agent driven, the parallelism is highly dynamic, reconfigurable via the AIGA communication language, an XML-based specification called I-XML. These I-XML specifications are distributed and transformed by different AIGA agents in the system to achieve a scalable and manageable system design for collaboration and information management. We describe the details of AIGA, the I-XML specification, and our Java based prototype. This is work is supported under the National Imagery & Mapping Agency’s University Research Initiative program.

An Atomic Approach to Agent-based Imagery and Geospatial Problem Solving

This paper describes our approach to building a scalable, flexible agent-based architecture for imagery and geospatial processing. The architecture implements over 100 imagery and geospatial processing agents based on the Java Advanced Imaging and OpenMap APIs. The agents are distributed over a Jini enabled network, and communicate with one another via JavaSpaces. We discuss our ”atomic” approa...

Implementation of a Geospatial Imagery Digital Library Using Java and CORBA

We have implemented a prototype distributed system for managing and accessing a digital library of geospatial imagery over a wide-area network. The system conforms to a subset of the Geospatial and Imagery Access Services (GIAS) specification from the U.S. National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), which defines an object-oriented application programming interface (API) using the Common Object...

A Mobile Agent-based Architecture for Distributed Program Supervision Systems

Program Supervision aims at automating the use of complex programs, independently of any particular application domain. Program Supervision Knowledge-Based Systems (KBS) offer original techniques to plan and control program processing activities. The distribution of such systems becomes essential because real applications imply more and more participants on various sites. It allows either to si...

Today, we cannot ignore the role of trees in the quality of human life, so that the earth is inconceivable for humans without the presence of trees. In addition to their natural role, urban trees are also very important in terms of visual beauty. Aerial imagery using unmanned platforms with very high spatial resolution is available today. Convolutional neural networks based deep learning method...

Dynamic Dedicated Server Allocation for Service Oriented Multi-Agent Data Intensive Architecture in Biomedical and Geospatial Cloud

Cloud computing has recently received considerable attention, as a promising approach for delivering Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services as a utility. In the process of providing these services it is necessary to improve the utilization of data centre resources which are operating in most dynamic workload environments. Datacenters are integral parts of cloud computing. In ...
